Crime doesn’t pay, and we don’t plan on it for the iPad.

Once again Apple’s Steve Jobs leaves the business community out of the loop on his latest gadget we want to heist, the iPad. Heavy security at the Apple’s debut of the iPad, kept Jesus, Rocco and Silky from taking Apple big shot Steve Jobs for a ride around the block to get some important information on this new gadget.

Here’s what the Wiseguys wants to know.

1. When can people buy one?

Word on the street says, Steve Jobs said these iPhones on steroids would be available in a couple of months, but our contacts in the Teamsters say little if any trucks are moving the iPad to stores or warehouses. Do we need to talk to someone at the FCC, and make them an offer they can’t refuse? Let us know if we can be of assistance.

2. When can people pre-order one?

Rumors surfaced that you could get one online last week, but no big announcement from Apple, nothing said or heard here on the iPad. Would be helpful to know the date, so we can scout warehouses and do some pre-inspections of the iPad around 2:00 am.

3. Will the Apple iPad come with built in censorship?

We have discriminating customers; we need to know if Apple’s stuffed shirts are going to censor apps like they did last week on the iPhone’s app store. Our customers like sexy pictures, violent movies and other morally in-correct content. We also value lyrics containing sexually explicit, crude and vulgar language contained in some of our favorite iTunes. Will Apple get off their soapbox and allow the iPad and iPhone to act like the rest of the Internet?

4. Can iPhone apps run on the iPad?

More than likely wherever we find the iPads there will be iPhones, so it would be nice to know if they are compatible so we can offer our customers an added bonus with our discount pricing. Steve Jobs did mention that iPhone apps will run on the iPad, which sounds great, but do we need to scoop up some adapters while we are freely acquiring iPhones and iPads to make this work?

5. The Internet is free, but will it cost money on the iPad?

Last but not least, we need to talk. Of course we like the idea of a street tax, but we don’t like paying tribute to anyone. Rumors have been circling that a few media companies are thinking about charging for content delivered on the iPad. We have heard that those nosy bastards at the Associated Press announced that Apple is developing an iPad app that will enable them to charge for newspaper stories. It sounds like a slick idea to make a few bucks and we want a cut. Is it true that you are actually planning on an “iPad tax” for free content? Get back to us; we want to be partners in this scheme.

Enough hype and three card monty Steve Jobs, the wiseguys want to do business, so let us see the damn iPad whatchamacallit.

You have to get in line just like anyone else. If you don’t like that, then don’t buy.

1 Steve Jobs said two months at the time the iPad was promo’ed, but that could vary.
2 Pre orders are usually about two weeks before release.
3 There is no censorship on the iPad.

The ITunes App store is being refitted. It could get an adults only section. The apps which people complain are too explicit for children could be denied and then be re-allowed in a separate section. This isn’t censorship, since all stores are careful about what products or services they sell, because of the image which is presented by the oroduct. This is Apple being brand conscious.
4 iPhone apps run on the iPad in a 2X format. This won’t look as good on the iPad, so special iPad versions will take advantage of the larger screen size.
5 The internet is not free; you must pay an ISP for access. Content is not free; at most places you are forced to view advertisements. Books, movies, magazines and newspapers will not be free because their owners would go out of business if they aren’t paid for. There is no tax, because the government is not involved in this. If you want good content then you have to pay for it.

If you refuse to pay, then why get an iPad? If you want to opt out, I have two cans on a string, I can sell you.

Well, Mars if you guys are going to lift a few, pick one up for me. You are so silly sometimes.

I actually can’t wait, watching movies and reading books on the iPad should be cool.
